Participate
There are several ways you can participate in the Los Altos Festival of
Lights Parade: you can sponsor one of our floats or bands (which will
display a sign with your business name), you can enter a float of your own,
you can be an entertainment group consisting of music, dancing, or another
type of performance, or you can join in the fun and be one of our costumed
characters.
Enter a Float/March in the Parade
If you or your group is considering entering a float or marching/performing
in the Parade, please read the
Rules and
Regulations carefully. If you have
never participated in this Parade before, you will be required to submit a
sketch, photo or detailed description depicting illumination of your entry.
Additionally, children under the age of twelve will need prior approval to
participate. We begin accepting applications September 1st. Our deadline is
October 10th. Confirmation packets are mailed out two weeks prior to Parade
night. If you are interested in participating, please fill out the
Entry Application and
Hold Harmless
Agreement and mail to:

Float Sponsorship
The Festival of Lights
Parade Association owns twenty floats. Eighteen of them are sponsored by
local businesses and organizations, their name billboarded on both sides of
the float itself. Sponsorship fees range from $150 to $1,000 and are based
on past ownership, means of propulsion, size, and the level of mechanical
detail. The majority of floats have the same sponsor year after year;
however, we are usually looking for one to two new sponsors each year. If
your company or organization is interested in sponsoring a float, please
contact Angela Richards at agrjar@sbcglobal.net, and your name will be put
on our waiting list on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Costumed Characters
We are always looking for adults and teenagers to be one of our costumed
characters. You will have a one-time fitting in October and then participate
parade night. It is fun and rewarding to see all the smiling faces along the
parade route and when else do you get a chance to be Winnie the Pooh or the
Wicked Witch? Please click on
